Welcome to the new pH site and my new Blog.

I’m often asked what I’ve experienced lately in terms of wine, food and related topics. Regularly, clients, friends and relatives ask: “What’s new at the store?”, “What’s coming up that I need to know about?”, “When is your next private tasting?” and so on.  As a result, I’m thrilled to start this blog to keep everyone up to date with all of the above and a lot more.  So, I am going to jump right in!

  • As many of you know, I’m a little more than enthusiastic about the red and white Burgundy wines from Lucien Le Moine.  Having visited & tasted in their cellars in Beaune, it made me smile when I saw this article in the May 31st edition of Wine Spectator.  Read that article- there is a lot of history about Mounir and Rotem as well as buzz about what is to come!  (And for God’s sake, if you haven’t already, you must try some of their gorgeous wines: we have a few at pH Wine Merchant.)

  • The best 2 meals I’ve had in Atlanta in the last year were at Miller Union and Aria recently.  Neal McCarthy and Steven Satterfield have things firing on all cylinders at MU as the service, food and beverages are in top form. Of particular note were the Feta Snack and Farm Egg from the apps as well as an incredible rabbit entree that was phenomenal.  At AriaAndreas Laozia has put together an incredible set of wine parings to complement the stunning tasting menu there & has the staff that know how to execute top-notch wine service.  My recent experience there was memorable to say the least and every course Gerry Klaskala and his talented team put forth was gorgeous.  If you haven’t been to either of these in the last quarter, it needs to move to the top of your list!

There is no way I would ever get to enjoy such fabulous wines without the generosity of so many great people who share their passion for wine with me — which is one of the things that really drew me to wine in the first place.

If you’ve made it this far, you either skipped to the end or you need to come by the shop and let me share a taste of something great for making it all the way through that!

Warm Regards,
Anthony Yambor,
pH Wine Merchant
