2011 Chateau Pesquie Quintessence, Ventoux, France
$19.99
In 2011, Chateau Pesquie crafted one of the finest red wines I have ever encountered from the Ventoux region of France. The 80% Syrah & 20% Grenache blend unfolds in the glass with aromas of cassis, blackberry, raspberry, spice box, floral notes and a hint of smoked meat. The palate proves to be as captivating as the nose as the range of beautiful fruit is accompanied by accents of gravelly earth with lovely texture leading to a long, vibrant finish that bursts with fruit. At under $20, this is a bargain to say the least. The Wine Advocate say the following about the 2011 Quintessence: “Balanced, fresh and elegant, with medium to full-bodied richness, knockout texture and chewy tannin, it should shine for 5-7 years” and rates the wine 92 points.
